Dorothy of Oz the movie

Summertime Entertainment anuncia oficialmente la producción “Dorothy of Oz”, un musical animado en 3D en el cual acompañaremos a Dorothy y Toto de regreso a Oz para ayudar a sus amigos. Además de dar a conocer el argumento, se lanza su página web oficial donde podemos ver bocetos de nueve personajes con los respectivos actores que prestan su voz.

Hay problemas en Oz y se necesita de Dorothy. Co ayuda de Glinda, ella y Toto regresan a Oz. Con sus viejos amigos, el Espantapájaros, el Hombre de Hojalata, el León —- ya no cobarde —- además de nuevos personajes, Dorothy inicia un peligroso viaje para así detener a un astuto Bufón, quien amenaza con utilizar el poder de la Malvada Bruja del Oeste para convertir a toda la gente de Oz en marionetas. Ese es el mejor de los problemas que Dorothy tiene que afrontar mientras transcurre el viaje ya que debe pasar por un laberinto, una cueva llena de dragones hambrientos y un malvado hechizo podría destruir el camino amarillo.


El reparto de voces está conformado por: Lea Michele, Rachel Berry de Glee, como Dorothy Gale; Martin Short como The Jester o el Bufón; Dan Aykroyd como el Espantapájaros; Kelsey Grammer como el Hombre de Hojalata; James Belushi como el León; Megan Hilty como The China Princess; Hugh Dancy como Marshall Mallow; Oliver Platt como Wiser the Owl, y; Patrick Stewart como Tugg. Personajes conocidos y personajes nuevos. Actores reconocidos en cine e interpretes de Broadway. Sin duda un cast muy completo.

“Dorothy of Oz” es dirigida por Dan St. Pierre, un artista salido de las filas de animadores Disney, quien colaboró en “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin” y “The Lion King”, por mencionar algunas. El guión fue escrito por el novato Adam Balsam y Barry Glasser en base de un cuento adaptado por Randi Barnes. La producción contará con música de Bryan Adams. Se prepara su estreno para finales de 2011.

It is filled with characters (the queen of fieldmice) and concepts (Emerald City visitors must don special spectacles or risk blindness) from the original text, which the writer, Eric Shanower, has used to maximum effect.
